Did you spot it? The MMO Asteroids I mentioned yesterday was in fact completely fake – there are no other players at all. Each ship is just a particle with some simple physics to make them move around. To be totally honest, I thought everyone would catch on very quickly after a few seconds of playing but I guess I did too good a job 
There’s even an angry thread on Hacker News about it so I guess I did something right.
