The latest Chrome Experiment to come from Google themselves is an extremely clever concept for a game. World Wide Maze transforms the DOM structure of a webpage into a playable, Marble Madness-style game. It is built on top of a few of the CreateJS tools, Require JS, jQuery, three.js and a lot of hard work by the looks of it.
By opening the same page on your phone as your desktop browser, you can use your device as a controller and the use of Chrome’s Tab Sync feature to simplify this process is another nice little touch.
The choice of gameplay is clever in that it’s a game style that benefits from slow, predictable movements and therefore the unavoidable lag between movement and reaction is a lot less noticeable than if it were a shoot-em-up or platformer.
